One day.
One language.
One world.

Every year on September 25th, Esperantists everywhere step outside their door to spread Esperanto.

Through the door

Behind every door, someone who hasn't heard of Esperanto yet.

Varbado-Tago is the day we go and knock. days to go.

Why a recruitment day

No government funds it.
No corporation markets it. It grows because people share it.

Since 1887, Esperanto has survived the same way it started: one person telling another. Varbado-Tago makes that sharing collective: one coordinated day, worldwide, when every Esperantist becomes a recruiter.

Every year on September 25th, Esperantists everywhere step outside their circles and invite the public into the Esperanto world. Not a conference. Not a congress. A day of open doors.

What you can do

Pick one. Five minutes is enough.

You need only one person willing to listen.

Pop-up table

“An introduction to Esperanto in 2 minutes” in a park, at a university or on the street. All you need is a table, two chairs and a sign.

Introductory lesson

Local speakers host a first lesson in a library or community centre. Open doors, no sign-up, no homework.

Festivals and fairs

An Esperanto stand at a language, peace or multicultural fair already happening in your town. Visit universities during club fairs in September.

A social media post

A story, photo, thread or short video. Say what Esperanto did for you and where people can start.

Chalk on the street

Write one sentence about Esperanto on the pavement.

Flyers and posters

Around universities, secondary schools and noticeboards. Download them from the internet.

One simple task: introduce Esperanto to one person.

You can introduce Esperanto to a friend or lead a short course in a school or library. Every action counts!

The link between peace & language

A week when the world thinks about language and peace

September 26 is the European Day of Languages. September 21 is the International Day of Peace. Our Varbado-Tago plants Esperanto’s flag in that same soil: proof that a peaceful language created for everyone deserves a seat at the table.
